Path With Art is pleased to announce the opening of a new Biannual Exhibit, in partnership with the Pacific Place retail and entertainment center in downtown Seattle. The Exhibit will feature a collection of works by Path With Art students, the majority of whom were, or are, at risk of becoming homeless due to financial poverty, physical disability, mental health or trauma. The exhibit will be displayed on the third level of the shopping center (between Helly Hansen and Benetton) and run from April 1-15, 2010, with a public opening reception on Thursday, April 1 from 6-8 p.m –opening remarks and artists’ talks at 6:30.

“We are thrilled to partner with Path With Art on this event and exhibit, and strongly believe in the important work of this organization,” commented Lynn Beck, general manager of Pacific Place. “We look forward to sharing this program with our shopping center visitors and the downtown community.”

The Biannual Exhibition is the latest addition to several new Path With Art collections currently on display in galleries, corporations and public spaces throughout the greater Seattle area. Currently, Path With Art’s traveling exhibit can be viewed at the Greenlake Starbucks (7100 East Greenlake Drive North, Seattle). Collections reflect a variety of mediums resulting from student participation in six-week long classes, including but not limited to painting, ceramics, drawing, photography and digital media.

In addition, the Path With Art “Public Belongings” exhibit is currently on display at the Frye Art Museum and is scheduled to run through May 31, 2010. The collection is part of a larger exhibition entitled the Seattle Project, a series of collaborative exhibitions and projects commissioned by the Frye to celebrate the Museum’s fifty-eight year old commitment to community outreach and art education.
