Big news from Spinasse and big love for Revel in Seattle mag’s foodie newsletter, Restaurant Insider:
This week was a good one for Fremont eatery, Revel, who received top notch reviews from both Seattle magazine and Seattle Met as they hit subscribers’ mailboxes. Non-subscribers will have to wait a few days before snatching up their copy from the newsstand, but here’s a taste of what the reviewers had to say:
“Sometimes, it’s easy to fall into ‘other city’ envy. What’s not to like about Portland’s utopian indie scene, Vancouver’s dim sum and Japanese food, Chicago’s thrilling modern cooking, New York’s delis, bagels—everything? But when a restaurant like Revel comes along right here at home, it’s one more notch in our belt, and the competitive food nerd inside me can’t help herself: Eat your heart out, suckers!” exclaims Seattle mag’s Allison Austin Scheff.
“Revel may be the most aptly named restaurant in town…the food, the revelatory food, remains the biggest part of why,” declares Seattle Met’s Kathryn Robinson, who goes on to describe Revel as singular in “genius accomplished in the offhand vernacular of street food.”
Congrats to Revel for the well-deserved kudos!

Bastille garners a Best New Neighborhood Restaurant mention, while Monsoon East wins Best Of the Eastside Dining Explosion and Best Steamed Black Cod in Seattle Mag’s annual Best Restaurants issue. Congratulations all around!
